SEO, GEO and AEO for multilingual sites: cited in every language, hreflang intact

AI engines answer in the language of whoever asks. CiteProof measures questions in the site language, keeps hreflang and structured data in order for every version and leaves translation to the tool that already does it.

What it does, exactly

Every point is a feature that exists today. No promises about the future.

Audits in the site language

Customer questions are asked to AI engines in the site language, English or Italian, with the sector question catalogue in that language.

hreflang from the plugin

Per-page alternates, mirror sites, x-default, in the sitemap too. If WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress or Weglot already handles it, the plugin steps aside.

One site per domain

Languages on the same domain count as one site. One domain per country is a separate site, with its own questions and market.

Who is cited instead of you, per language

Competitors and sources AI engines prefer in the measured language, with the pages they use as evidence.

Fixes for every version

Schema, title, meta and canonical are per page: every translation has its own, applied by the plugin in one click and checked daily.

Content in the site language

Short answers, FAQs and articles written in the site language from your facts, to approve before publishing.

Search Console per page

The searches of every language version, with the titles and FAQs to redo on the right page.

Free hreflang check

The free tool extracts and validates the hreflang tags of any site, before you even sign up.

What we do not do, and why

  • AI audits today run in English and Italian. For other languages the plugin still handles hreflang, schema and meta, but questions are not asked to AI engines in that language.
  • We do not translate content: WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress or Weglot stay in charge of the languages; we look after hreflang, schema and meta of every version.
  • One domain is one site in the plan: with one domain per country, each domain is a separate site.

The plans read for a multilingual site

Languages on the same domain count as one site. Audits per month, monitored questions and engines are what changes.

Frequently asked questions

In which languages do you measure questions?+

English and Italian, each with a sector question catalogue. For other languages the plugin does the rest (hreflang, schema, meta) but AI engines are not queried in that language.

I use WPML or Polylang: any conflict?+

No. The plugin recognises WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress and Weglot and does not print a second hreflang. You can force the module on or off in the settings.

Subfolders, subdomains or separate domains?+

Subfolders and subdomains of the same domain are one site. Separate domains per country are separate sites in the plan, each with its own questions.

Do fixes apply to every translation?+

Schema, title, meta and canonical are per page, so every translation has its own. Site-level fixes (robots, llms.txt, Organization) cover the whole domain.

What about a Shopify store in several languages?+

The Shopify app works in the store language, English or Italian; markets on separate domains are separate stores.
