Opening Citeproof in the WordPress menu lands you on the Overview. It is built to answer three questions without digging: how the pages stand, who reads them, what to do now.
The average AEO score
The ring on the left is the average AEO score of every published page (see the guide on the SEO box in the editor). Below it, the three weakest pages, each with a Write AI draft link: the platform prepares a short answer and questions from the page text, you approve them in the editor.
AI crawler visits
The chart counts AI crawler visits over the last 14 days, per bot (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, ChatGPT-User…). The count comes from PHP: with a page cache serving pages without WordPress, add the server log in the AI bots tab. Log opens the list of single visits.
What to do now
The list on the right has five points: fact sheet filled in, About page complete, /ai-info published, AI crawlers set, connected to Citeproof. Each row leads to the tab that solves it.
The four numbers
- Pages read by AI (7 days) out of the published ones.
- Never read by an AI: important pages no crawler has opened. The simplest remedy is to link them from the home.
- URLs invented by AI: addresses an assistant cited that do not exist. The plugin collects them and proposes the redirect (Redirects tab).
- Wrong facts in answers: statements about your brand the audit found to differ from the fact sheet. They show on the Brand page of the dashboard.
Done by the plugin
At the bottom, the log of what the plugin does without asking: pages sent to IndexNow, image descriptions written, redirects served, links inserted. Above it, the monthly quota (image descriptions and AI drafts) with the reset date.
Is the average AEO score the visibility score of the dashboard?
No. The AEO score measures how easy each page is for an AI engine to extract and cite; the dashboard's visibility score measures how much the engines actually cite you in their answers. You raise the first in the editor, the second follows.
