The score is a number from 0 to 100 that summarizes your visibility across AI answer engines. It's a reference to grow over time, not an absolute grade.
What it's made of
The score combines two dimensions:
- Citations on engines — how often and in what way the answer engines name your brand when queried on relevant topics. Each engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI) contributes its own result.
- Accessibility and citability — whether AI bots can reach your site and how well your pages are structured to be understood and cited.
How to interpret it
- A low score isn't a judgment on your business: it often comes down to fixable technical issues (blocked bots, missing structured data, content that isn't citable).
- What matters is the direction: the number should climb as you apply fixes.
- By CiteProof's rule, the score only rises after the Verify Bot confirms a fix is actually live.
The per-engine breakdown
Beyond the global score, you see the breakdown per engine: so you know where you're already cited and where you're not, and can focus your effort.
Why is my score low even though I rank #1 on Google?
Because they're two different things: ranking on Google doesn't guarantee being cited by AI. CiteProof's score measures visibility across answer engines, which needs specific optimizations (AEO).
