Getting started

Reading your score

The AI visibility score (0-100) measures how often your brand is cited by answer engines and how accessible and citable your site is. It combines citations on individual engines with how well bots can access your site.

Updated June 2026

The score is a number from 0 to 100 that summarizes your visibility across AI answer engines. It's a reference to grow over time, not an absolute grade.

Reading your score

What it's made of

The score combines two dimensions:

  • Citations on engines — how often and in what way the answer engines name your brand when queried on relevant topics. Each engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI) contributes its own result.
  • Accessibility and citability — whether AI bots can reach your site and how well your pages are structured to be understood and cited.

How to interpret it

  • A low score isn't a judgment on your business: it often comes down to fixable technical issues (blocked bots, missing structured data, content that isn't citable).
  • What matters is the direction: the number should climb as you apply fixes.
  • By CiteProof's rule, the score only rises after the Verify Bot confirms a fix is actually live.

The per-engine breakdown

Beyond the global score, you see the breakdown per engine: so you know where you're already cited and where you're not, and can focus your effort.

Why is my score low even though I rank #1 on Google?

Because they're two different things: ranking on Google doesn't guarantee being cited by AI. CiteProof's score measures visibility across answer engines, which needs specific optimizations (AEO).

CiteProof tracks your brand's visibility across AI answer engines and tells you what to change to get cited.
